Laser hair reduction targets the pigment in the hair follicle with precisely calibrated energy, progressively reducing growth across a series of sessions.
Because settings are adjusted to your skin tone and hair colour by clinicians with decades of laser experience, treatment is safe, effective and appropriately conservative where it needs to be.
Published, GST-inclusive, no surprises.
Laser hair reduction is priced by treatment time — your complimentary consultation and patch test confirm suitability and how many minutes your areas need before you book.
Laser targets pigment in actively growing hair. Because not every follicle is active at the same time, a course is needed. Treatment can create a long-term reduction in suitable hair, but it cannot promise that every hair will be permanently removed.
Some remaining hair may become finer or lighter. Hormonal changes and some health conditions can stimulate future growth, particularly on facial areas, and maintenance may be needed.
White, grey, red and some very light hair contains too little target pigment to respond reliably.
For the period advised before treatment:
Do not stop prescribed medication without speaking to the prescriber. An appointment may be postponed if recent tanning or another factor increases risk.
Skin tone, hair colour, treatment area, medication and recent sun exposure all influence device and setting selection. A patch test helps assess response but cannot remove every risk.
Temporary warmth, redness and swelling around follicles are common. Less common risks can include blistering, burns, pigment change, prolonged irritation or scarring.
After treatment, avoid heat, friction, fragranced products and sun exposure for the period advised. Do not pick or exfoliate shedding hairs.
Many skin tones can be treated when an appropriate device and wavelength are available and settings are selected by an experienced clinician. Suitability is individual, and treatment may be declined or referred if the available technology is not appropriate.
Skin tone, hair type and medical history are reviewed; a patch test confirms settings.
The area is shaved and cleansed; eyewear fitted.
Calibrated pulses treat each follicle; sessions run to their booked time.
Hair grows in cycles, so sessions are spaced 4 to 8 weeks apart to catch each cycle.
Mild warmth or follicular redness for a few hours. Avoid sun exposure and heat on the day.
Most areas need 6 to 10 sessions for significant reduction, then occasional maintenance; it varies with hair colour and hormones.
Laser targets pigment, so very light or white hair responds poorly; your consultation will be honest about expected results.
Settings are adjusted to skin tone, and the patch test verifies safety before any full session.
Soothe treated areas and protect them from sun between sessions.
A 30-minute consultation with a senior clinician — honest advice and a written plan. $60, fully redeemable against treatment booked within two weeks.
