BBL, or BroadBand Light, delivers filtered pulses of light selected for specific visible targets in the skin. Depending on the selected filter and protocol, it may be used for suitable visible pigmentation, uneven tone and visible redness.
Light is absorbed by colour within the target, creating controlled heat. Pigmented areas may temporarily darken before fading or flaking, while suitable vessels may gradually become less visible.
BBL is a form of intense pulsed light technology, not a laser. Results depend on individual assessment, skin selection, device settings, treatment course and sun management. The treatment is described in clear, qualified terms.

Suitability depends on skin tone, concern, recent sun exposure, medication, health history and the tendency to pigment. A consultation and patch test may be required.
BBL may be postponed or avoided where there is recent tanning, active infection, photosensitising medication, an unsuitable pigment condition or another factor that increases risk.

Temporary redness, warmth, swelling, darkening of pigment and sensitivity can occur. Less common risks include blistering, burns, prolonged redness, pigment change, infection or scarring.
