Unwanted hair can be a practical concern, a source of skin irritation or simply something you prefer to manage differently. Laser hair reduction offers a longer-term reduction in suitable pigmented hair across many face and body areas.
At neoSKiN, settings are selected according to skin tone, hair colour, hair thickness and treatment area. Consultation and patch testing help establish whether laser is likely to be suitable and what kind of reduction is realistic.
Laser energy targets pigment within the hair follicle. The energy converts to heat and affects the follicle’s ability to produce hair. Because hair responds best during an active growth phase, multiple sessions are required to treat follicles cycling at different times.
The correct term is hair reduction rather than guaranteed permanent removal. Some hair may remain, regrow more finely or require maintenance.
Laser relies on pigment and generally does not work well on white, grey, red or some very light hair. Hormonal facial hair may need ongoing management and, where appropriate, medical assessment.
Suitable areas can include the face, underarms, bikini area, legs, arms, back, chest and abdomen. Treatment availability and timing depend on the area and individual assessment.
We use conservative settings where needed and adjust treatment according to skin response. Darker skin tones require an appropriate device, wavelength and experienced parameter selection.

Preparation instructions are individual and should be confirmed during consultation.
Temporary warmth, redness or swelling around follicles can occur. Avoid heat, intense exercise, fragranced products and sun exposure for the period advised. Use broad-spectrum SPF on exposed areas.
Hair does not disappear permanently during the appointment. Treated hairs may shed over the following days or weeks.
Most people need a course because hair grows in cycles. The number varies by area, hair, hormones and individual response. Maintenance can be needed.
Sensation varies by area, device settings and individual sensitivity. Cooling can support comfort, but treatment should not be described as completely pain-free.
Reducing suitable hair growth may help some people who experience ingrown-prone skin, but active infection or another skin condition may require medical care.
Elective laser hair reduction is generally postponed during pregnancy. Tell the clinic if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or your health circumstances have changed.
